Terry has had an extensive experience in outdoors leadership with youth organisations and has expanded his outdoors opportunities during overseas travels. He trained initially as a Chartered Accountant but has spent most of hisworking life in management positions, the last 22 years as CEO of the Christchurch YMCA.

He was an elected member of the National YMCA board for many years and also an office holder in international professional organisations.He is a Chartered Accountant, Fellow of the NZ Institute of Management, a Chartered Secretary and a past member of the Institute of Directors. He was appointed a Trustee of SARINZ in 2008. He does some consultancy work and is Executive Chairman of an IT company.
